can someone help point me in the direction of where to get a code reader and which one to get???

i have a 54 reg td4 my mate has just purchased a v6 with poss gearbox problem and another mate has a 1.8 so we thought might be better in the long run for us to all chip in to get a diagnostic code reader

any ideas????

What years are the V6 and 1.8? If they're early you may struggle with these two. I've been having a right problem trying to get a diag kit for my 1.8k.

v6 is 2001 the 1.8 is 2000

so as with all things will need diff one for each car no doubt :mad::D

i dont know where you are but it says brum,i have a mate with said reader in the n,w leicestershire area who could oblige at very reasonable rate.

You'll struggle loads with the 1.8, mine is same year.

Not sure about the V6. Not even sure which ECUs they run.
 
You can get a Hawkeye diagnostic reader. It will set you back 300ish pound though. Or Faultmate for a few more hundred.
