Hi, this is the hood on the landy a week before I tried to clean it and began to fail.
Following installation, I did nothing further to protect the hood other than cleaning with water (as advised within care guidance), no treatments were used.

@Cornishdefender90 , I'd be furious if my canvas had aged/failed to such an extent and in such a short period of time. I've had soft top cars for decades and they rarely fail...but I wash and treat every year so 1. they do not fail, 2. look new. I use Renovo soft top cleaner, followed by their re-dye if needed, finished off with the Renovo weather proofer. Canvas/soft top is kept in tip top condition and never leaks.

Exmoor's response is quite pitiful and if they know the canvas life expectancy is only three years they need to change canvas supplier; one of a tighter more robust weave.

Agree, I was very disappointed with the response recieved. I shall follow your advice on care (somewhat lacking from Exmoor), but to be honest I don't have a great degree of confidence in the new hood. Just wanted to make others aware as £300 plus every 3 years is not something we should live with.

Should have probably performed more research before ordering a replacement from Exmoor. Shall treat this one as advised in this thread and hopefully avoid a similar conversation in 3yrs!!
That’s rubbish life expectancy. I’ve got a 30 year old one. Used from April to September. I treat it each year with Grangers Fabsil, great stuff. I wouldn’t keep it on over winter outside it’s just too damp. Just spent yesterday getting the hardtop back on a right bugger of a job fettling the fixings. Until next year; I prefer the canvas hood, actually warmer than the safari hardtop.

Can anyone advise? I disposed of my old (rotten) hood before installing the new one. I went to put it on this weekend and the aluminium inserts that go in the hood are missing (you can guess where the old ones are!). Exmoor advise me these are part of the hoop set and its now going to cost me £50 for replacements. I am sure they came with my original hood - am I mistaken?

Thank you, shall have a look. Tempted to just get some aluminium or stainless cut locally to size - simple strips

Thank you for this thread. I am considering a hood for a 110 cab. I am leaning towards undercover hood. They are much more expensive, but the reviews speak to the better quality.

undercover covers, or all wheel trim are much much better than exmoor tbh
I have an AWT canvas on mine and it’s lovely
