:welcome2::confused:HI i have a p38 4.6hse, v8 auto. i am unable to shift the selector into any gear position. the transmission fluid was checked and was topped up as it was empty but still wont go into gear.apparently its been driven in low ratio and now wont change to high ratio. does anyone have any feedback for me on what i can try next. any info would be much appreciated.

Not going into any gears is usually brake light switch. Look behind brake pedal. There is a switch attached to a bracket with a push button on it. Some times the button get stuck. Make sure that it is still connected. Check the wire connection also. Hell unplug it then replug it. Might just work.

appreciate your quick reply. will check in the morning as jeep is stuck in a garage with an auto electrician who was meant to be soting out the central locking problem.

Does it change from Low to High? If it does not do that, then there is a motor failure - there is also and ecu for the autobox, do you have any faults on the dash?

Problem is sorted now. there was a abs light and also srs light on dash. Problem was a solenoid on transfer box which needed replacing. So i am up and running now but still cant open back doors.
