Hi joined not long ago, hasn't taken long for me to need help! Hope somebody can help me with this. I have a 97 P38 4.6HSE and the fob has just stopped working. It worked fine this morning and then when I went out a few minutes later... nothing. So I changed the batteries and tried resync, holding lock button down turning key to lock and holding 5 seconds, taking key out. Nothing, so then tried EKA code nothing! The light on the fob flashes when pressing the buttons so does that mean the fob is ok? I am stuck now any suggestions? Would be greatly appreciated!

Hi dino this happend to me last week so put new batterys in my resync was diff to yours
if the doors are locked press and release unlock on fob then put the key in and turn to unlock if door is unlocked press lock on the fob and release then put the key in and turn to lock
worth a try mate

Key in, turn left x4 then turn right for the first digit, left for the second, right for the third, left for fourth and then turn right once to unlock door

have you tried locking and unlocking with the key once

had to do it with mine then the fob started working

this is what is in my book

1 doors locked to start
2 turn key to unlock {towards the front of vehicle}the number of times to enter the first diget of the code
3 turn the key to the lock position the required number of times to enter the second digit of the code
4 turn the key to the unlock position the required number of times to enter the third digit of the code
5 turn the key to the lock position the required number of times to enter the fourth digit of the code
6 finally turn the key once more to the unlock position

if you forget your place in the sequence of key operations and therefore do not complete a code. open and shut the door and start entering the code again {this will not count as a failed atempt}

Just been out and tried that still nothing. At the end it beeped twice and the indicators flashed but that was it. The alarm light on top of the dash is still flashing.??

it starting to sound like one problem is your car bat is going a bit flat. i would leave it for a hour or two go out to it put your remoat up to rear drivers side window and press unlock just the once.

it also says that you need to relock the car and after 5 attempts you need to leave it for ten mins before you try again

Tried this morning put key in turned to the right to unlock it, put the key in the ignition and it started!!!! Very strange, Range Rovers eh? Thanks you guys for your help, be back again soon no doubt.

Re-synching the remotes for cars about your one's age is simply to put the key in the ignition. The led flashes 3 times and that's it. Do you have the second key - that one's the same? The other, older way of resynching is to insert key in the door lock, press and hold the lock button while turning the key to the lock position then switch buttons and turn to unlock, then lock and press, etc 4 times each way. (Nothing to do with the EKA code). For info should it happen again. PS I would have answered earlier but just noticed your plight. :)
