Indeed your Worships, the gentleman clams he has these articals in his vehicle at all times, perchance his is contacted by members of some obscure internet forum, who request him to assist them in entering there vehicle. Perhaps the gentleman would like to explain to the Court why he was in the carpark of a closed supermaret at 2 am on a Sunday morning, and when first questioned by Officers claimed his name was RATTY ?

That's easy yer honour.

Ya see I mistook the big M or Morrisons for the big M of Maccy D's.

thanks guys for all the funny stuff but this is bad crap for me,Ratty your way to this seems good but i am 62 years old and getting under my landy is a bit of a job these days, but the info is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a 7 pin towing electrics connctor with white cap?
theres a constant live +12v (pin4) and a Ground (pin3) there.
put a thick nail in the two requisit holes and croc-clip a charger to them, that'll give you enough juice to power the locks.

For 13pin euro connectors you want pin9 (power) and pin13 (Ground)

Give your breakdown company a shout. They are used to dealing with incidents like this and should have you up and running in no time. :)

I dont know if this model has knock sensors anywhere.
Might be of interest to note that on an old XJS there's a sensor in the sill. If you tap the underside, about the midway along the door with a lump hammer, the car thinks it's in a crash and unlocks all the doors so you can be rescued.

...i am unwilling to explain how i know this!:eek:

Of course, if you hit any Disco with a hammer it'll go right through the rusty floor panel and you can crawl in through the hole!

The ignition has to be on to activate the locks via the crash sensor and electrics don't work without electricity. Be careful hitting the crash sensors cos it can often deploy the airbag if fitted too.

very true and sensible advice ratty.
XJS didn't have airbags, and for some reason the sensors were always live.
however i was just building up to the 'discovery rotten floor' quip.

R.A.C just been and fixed problem, first he jacked up the disco and checked the battery was o/k,it was.He then got a small metal hook and thru the grill managed to yank the cable to open the bonnet, went straight to the fuse box, took out fuses 19 and 20 and put them back, central locking worked,a big THANKS everyone who tried to help.
