Is it just me that finds the ride on HD springs comfy or is this cos you lot is all old and crippled

You are a young pup give your self 35+ years and then see if you feel the same way. You just want bragging right to I have a heavy duty suspension. You need no more suspension than to do the job, over heavy duty than what is needed is not good.

Take a ride in my 90 then say they are comfy

I've driven and been driven in a couple of 90's and a few series with seized leafs never thought they were too bad unless you're crammed into the middle seat

Yours cant be any worse than a seized up series ;)

Now I am really really confused :confused::confused::confused:

what is total weight added? 300 LBS max? less the weight of bumber you taking off 50lbs? so a addition of 250lbs max? So you are adding the weight of a man that is 6'5'' then. Measure the height before you do things and after everything is fitted. This way you can make a better decision;):D

the fact that HD springs cost less than LR originals is a plus point too…..was definitely a good thing when I had the spare engine and welder crammed in the back of the disco though

still comfy enough for me, disco will probably have dissolved and I'll be in a comfy old mans volvo in 35 years

Might be useful for towing too

 Oh god, do I have to put them on the back as well

My 2.7 tonne trailer has quite a high nose weight when empty. But when I load the horses it evens out a bit because they load over the axles

Does your motor sit down when you hitch up? If you do then hd springs will stop that. Lads at work scrape there mud flaps when they tow trailers but we were told/fibbed off that you cant get hd springs for the new 110. Bollocks. But i digress..

The bumper I am taking off wont weigh much, there isn't much left of it. John kicked it the other week to prove there was nothing wrong with it and a bit fell off :D:D:D

Am guessing the bumper weights about 50Kg because the daughter and me can happily lift 25Kg feed bags and we lifted it easily together. No idea what a winch weighs

who said anything about LR original springs. I'm talking paddocks.craddocks, First four etc they carry standard weight +2". If she is just trying to retain same bumper height then there are other ways to do it and retain same ride quailty, than slam a set of heavy duty springs. I know our snow plow truck with front coils we added air bags inside got back correct height and retained ride quality, them plows weight 1000-1100 Lbs 3 1/2 feet in front of the bumper so they generated lots of leverage

Not really, my Disco used to, the 90 not so much. But once the horses are in it used to come back up. Its the way Ifors are designed. My old Rice didn't have as much nose weight when empty but they would both be about the same when the horses are in.

it depends on what you use vehicle for soft springs can be terrible and so can too hard,i found my h/d springs much better on road but a bit shaky at speed on rough ground

Single or twin axle? Twins will sit better. And sounds like you dont need em on the back but dont know if you should fit a set of four.

Mines either bumpy back roads or motorway driving and they've been good so far, no complaints

might help that I've got decent seats in it but no idea how heavily rated the bearmach blues are compared to other companies

Its a twin axle, 2.7 tonnes MAM, no problems whatsoever towing it at the moment so wasn't thinking of changing the back. But I don't want to get the whole thing out of balance. I just assumed standard but HD springs and stuff would have no effect other than stop the front end lowering.

Ok then a 10,000 LB super winch is 98LBS so may be 90LBS for the bumper so about 200LBS + - 20LBS. I would measure, then fit the stuff and remeasure, take it for a ride and see how you like it and how this handle. Might even add horse box and go for a ride and do a comparison to see if it to your liking. Nothing worse than adding something you didn't need, plus the money time thing:rolleyes:

My new 90 had a shocking ride. Horrible felt every bump.
