I am going to have a look at a 2000 MY P38 diesel tomorrow and I have never even sat in one so I am looking to download a handbook to prepare for this visit. Can anyone tell me where I might be able to download a copy of the owners handbook/manual?

What a great resource this forum is. Thanks very much for this oil dripper, truly appeciated.

Brilliant - I have also found that useful as my P38 didn't come with one either. Will eBay for a paper one, but useful to be able to learn stuff prior to arrival of that. Thank you.

Download Rave from the Technical section. You will need it and it has all the manuals you will need.

Thanks Rubberknees. I've downloaded the .iso file, saved it, extracted using 7zip.

Got the folder of files plus subfolders. Whenever I run Rave, I get an Acrobat 4 window pop up briefly, then it disappears. Can't find Rave in the running programs or anything.
Am I misunderstanding the instructions? Is it worth me trying burning the iso image and launching that? (yes my laptop is old enough to have an optical drive)
Or is it likely to be some sort of corruption / incompatibility issue with the software? I tried 2 different downloads in case one source was corrupted, both do exactly the same.
Thanks.

Do you have the Land Rover badge short cut on your desk top. If so double click, you will see the adobe flash up as you said then you should have a box come up in middle of page with another green Land Rover badge , click on this and you will have a choice of options to choose from. range Rover is the P38 and new Range Rover the L322

Got the shortcut, and the icon in the folder. Both just bring up the Adobe window, then nothing. No extra services running in Task Manager or showing on the taskbar. It shouldn't make any difference where the files are saved to should it?

Don't think it works on the latest version of Windows with all the latest updates
AH. I'll maybe try it on my wife's old XP dinosaur desktop then. Fingers crossed.

When it is something new you don't know if its the system or PICNIC for the issue (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer).

What version of windows are you running?
I have 2 laptops(XP and windows 7) windows tablet(windows 8) and desktop windows 10 and Rave runs fine on all of them. If windows 10 you do have to alter compatibility in properties
When you unzipped did it save to folder Rave(RR'02_RRP38_Defender)
Remember years ago when I fisrt downloaded a copy of Rave it was incomplete and had to find another

Tried it on the dinosaur desktop on XP and it is working fine on there. Obviously just W10 on my laptop being a bit advanced. I'd tried compatibility mode but it was still sulking.
Might try a live Linux CD and see if it will run under that on the laptop, once I dig the discs that I have out.

And then after another test run of the car this weekend I can start asking stupid questions about how to fix things if I can't find the right threads started already!

Mine stopped working on my PC. Someone said try Win98 compatibility. I think the new version of Adobe messes it up.

I changed my compatibility to Win98/WinME mode and works fine. Am using Adobe 4. Trouble is now adays the downloads are messing up a lot of older software in Win10.
