Hi all, quick question. Back callipers of my defender have normal hex heads on the outside and the funny shaped ones I can never find the right spanner from on the inside. Should it have the weird ones on both? Anyone able to give me size of both types?
Thanks.

Think they're FTC3375 M12.
The 'funny shaped ones' are 12 points & need a normal 12 point ring spanner or socket.
The 12 point is effectively a 'double hex' & will undo normal hex bolts but I prefer hex on hex bolts to avoid rounding off corners on good bolts & usually removing damaged ones.

Yep, hate the 12 pointers. Majority of my sockets are normal hex.

So are the ones on the front face supposed to be these as well? Mine have normal hex on front but need to know size and type of them please. Cant seem to find online as any time I ask for caliper bolts its the double hex ones it shows.

Miktdish these are ones for back/inside face. Btw you must be nearby me, I’m not far from Lanark.

The rear ones (2 off) hold the calliper onto it's carrier, the front ones hold the calliper together and don't need to be touched ....

Probably, i'm in Cartrland, where are you ?

Order some on eBay. I think I got spare ones on there a while ago. Of course I don’t know where I put them now 😁
I’m 6 miles from Lanark by the way

Damn, it’s the 2 front ones I’m needing. Will take one out the other side and see if I can get another somewhere the same. Hunted my parts collection for one but not found one yet. :)

I’m in sunny Netherburn.

I’ve got 4 here if suitable. If they get you on the road you can have them and replace when you get them delivered. They are 12mm dia and 35mm from the shoulder. I’m in Carluke, so just 15 mins over the valley.

The center of Scottish Defender territory, we could meet on the Blue Rinse Highway and have coffee and cake at a garden center :vb-coffee: 🍰 (Just joking ...)

Or at the greedy grazer near the Garrion ?

Anyway, back to these caliper bolts, .. why do youi want to split the calipers in half ?
What's wrong with the bolts on the front ?

I hate the garden centres. Especially that Dobbies shitehole. Over priced crap and plastic food.

Did that one wrong then!! 😳 Leaking seal bud. Bolts had been attacked in the past almost totally rounded. Had to grind them to get 2 flat edges to remove them. The coffee sounds good some time though.

Meego, thanks for the offer but got some ordered now that should be here tomorrow. Not in a rush at moment as out if mot and just getting through the wee things. Trying to find a welder to fit 2 new front outriggers for me at moment. She's a work in progress at moment but need to get back on the road ASAP so the cosmetics will need to wait a while yet. Carluke, know it well. Used to stay there many years ago. Kids all went to school there and my daughter stays over there.

Good shout meego. Will give him a try.
As for the bolts, the parts cupboard came through for me.
