Full load fuel cut is different from bmw, rest of maps too.
EDC is not only fuelling map, there is much more maps in there.
You just have to know how to read it correctly. Please don't confuse people if you never done that.

I use HxD to view the bin files. They're just hex encoded. Getting the bin files off the chips is the tricky bit. Cannot remember what the kit is called, an EEPROM reader?
 
I use TunerPro to read/write maps(had to do my own XDF to read maps correctly) and miniPro programmer to read/write eproms

I really don't know why you are pursuing this. The fuel maps will be different that is a given. The torque and power curves differ for and engine used in a 1.6 ton car and 2.3 ton 4x4.

Download the HxB hex viewer and use that to open it. Follow the link to prj I left and see his article on how to read it.
 
As far as i am aware the chips in the P38 ECU cannot be rewritten.

No, not as far as I'm aware. You write a new one and swap it over or you can solder a chip socket onto the board so you can swap them more easily in the future. I think you can read it by scraping the protective stuff of the chip legs and pressing the reader against the chip with it on the board.
