So buying a Rover Range Rover 4.4 V8 2003 thats been converted to lpg for dirt cheap. But its done 200k, is that too much for the engine?

Suppose it depends on a load of things really.
If it’s been well maintained, then modern engines can last well, if it’s got that far surely it’s been looked after and is a good 1.
Gearbox’s seem to be more of a concern these days;)

If it’s cheap and you are prepared for perhaps a disaster, and can handle your own spanner’s ;) might be a good punt.
If it’s going to be a daily driver and you rely on a garage, then it could get awfully expensive in a hurry.

Loads more advice to follow I am sure.

At the end of the day it’s your risk.

yeah I plan to maintain the sucker myself. spoke with the dealer, says it has full service history. Ill go see it sunday and see whats what. I realised its the same V8 from the BMW m5 and x5. So I assume the same issues apply.

The cars about 3k. I'll check how much a new box is.

edit: quick google, 200-300quid for refurbished autobox.

A recon box is around 3k.

I wouldn't If i were you,

I'd save and buy a 2006+ Jag powered L322.

Only down side, it’s on springs.

Keep looking loads around and from what I have just seen £3k is not cheap these days for this car.

Trick is to not rush in loads out there, good luck in your search:)

what a find, but aren't springs way more reliable than the air suspension since thats defo going to break on me? :p

Again it’s the luxury of the RR ride. if the system is maintained and understood it’s great.

If you drive both you will understand :)

Sorry but that one has a bit of bling on it too, not my taste but reversible as is the spring conversion, for less than the gearbox for sure.

As I said look around don’t rush in. Also consider the difference between private seller and dealer;) and price mark up.

I only looked cos you said cheap and I wasn’t up on prices.

Yeah I've never been in an air suspension car before :p This will be my first range rover. Am kinda confused tbh, the gearbox costs 2500 so they sell for 2500? Or is it just the way with things.

Bit like a good lady in your life:D

Although not all ladies cost money, more the attention side of things if that makes sense.

We say don't buy springs purely becoz they handle like a Grandma in a wardrobe when not on air.
