My bulkhead is free but I cant lift it out past the ends of the sills.

The whole body & bulkhead were previously moved over to a galv chassis by a previous owner. This is the first time the bulkhead has been separated from the chassis on its own.

The shaft through which the bulkhead is bolted to the chassis is welded into the bulkhead protruding 10mm or so on each face. The front protrusion sits flush against the rear face of the chassis member meaning the bulkhead cant move forward. The rear end of the shaft sticks past the leading face of the sill.

Removing the sills would be a ballache.

What am I missing? Cheers guys.

Hi, i needed to remove the outer and inner sills and tilt the bulkhead into the cab to clear it.

You may not need to completely remove the sills and loosen them enough to clear it.

I was dreading someone would say that, rambirkett :(

Is it just* a case of unbolting the sills from the body work all the way back to the rear arches? I assume they are also bolted to a cross member somewhere too?

* yeah, right. How many of the bolts wont be seized I wonder?

They're only m6,they'll break easily
if seized.

just been back out to have a closer look and I guess removing the sill doesnt look too much of a hassle. Ah well, back on my back again... :)

thanks for the replies.
