In your photo, at about 9 o/c on the black rubber surround, there’s a hole in the rubber. I’ve always assumed this to be a drain hole (can’t think what else it’s for?) and so I’ve always made sure it sits at 6 o/c to allow water to drip out. I’ve noticed that on some indicator assemblies that the hole won’t sit at 6 o/c without a bit of alteration to the screw holes pre-punched.
You’ll see what I mean when you fit them !
*fit, not die. Bloody autocorrect
