Hello All,

Does anyone here have experience with the Britpart Lynx Evo phone app?
I'm guessing it can't do as much as a Nanocom or Hawkeye, but thought I should just see if anyone on here has tried it.

Requirements would likely include Discovery td5 immobiliser issues.

Thank you.

I have a britpart Lynx. It isn't the evo but it does most things like reprogramming keys, powerbleeding brakes and calibrating air suspension etc. as well as reading and resetting fault codes.

There's a 2nd Hand Nanocom on sale from a LZ site member for an excellent price.
Would just need any additional unlock code and cable.

when he posted it was only £200 for it and the cable. for his LR model. At worst you are looking at £200 + another unlock code and a cable. but still far cheaper than new and its the best kit for the home user.
It was a recent post I thought. Can't find it now.

Please somebody pick holes in the Lynx before I commit to getting one. ;)

Everything I've seen seems quite good so far; but I'm completely new to diagnostics systems.

Here's a YouTube review:

I'm not finding many recent threads on the LZ forum regarding the Lynx vs. Nanocom vs. Hawkeye.

Thanks for any constructive criticism!

Thats the one I have and it does what I needed it too - Powerbleed the brakes, calibrate air suspension and disgnostics.

Might be the way to go. It looks quite capable and intuitive to use.

Obviously, I'd be looking at the single vehicle – e.g. Discovery family only – version. It can be upgraded to another family group (e.g. Range Rovers) at another time, if need be.

@brianconwy and @DanClarke thank you both for your input. :)

OK, we've bought the Lynx Evo, and I'm leaving this as a note for anyone following the thread and interested in this diagnostics system: Now probably isn't the time to get the Lynx Evo – I've just learned the hard way.

According to Britpart support, there's currently no user manual for the Lynx Evo, so I'm fumbling around trying to use a somewhat clunky phone app. Things may improve, but they really shouldn't be selling the product before they put together a manual. Because it's such a new product, there are few other people out there who have any experience with it.
It might be going back to Britpart.

As far as I can tell that tool is around the £200 mark?
But then again I just bought my Hawkeye Total for £300 direct from Bearmach, so its not a huuuge price difference if im right, maybe consider that.

Although it did confuse me a little, as far as I knew you get 1 unlock code with the tool for a certain series, but when I rang to get the code he said the new model doesn't use codes and its plug and play.

@sierrafery Thank you. Do you know if the iCarsoft LR-1 can carry out functions like deactivating the passive immobiliser, or setting the immobiliser to be disarmed when the door is unlocked with the key? On the page you posted, I didn't see anything about actuators, but maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing. However, if it can carry out these functions, it might be what we're looking for.

@Jamiegreen Is the Hawkeye Total unlocked to all Land Rovers, then? We're considering sending the Lynx Evo back, and getting a Hawkeye Total instead.

Well I asked him does it work on all models, and he said yes theres no codes with these new Hawkeye's.. But if someone with a newer model could confirm that though as I can't say for certain, otherwise just give bearmach a ring.

If that's the case, they've got an edge there. I see that the Hawkeye Pro can read fault codes on a host of other non-Land Rover vehicles, as well. I wonder if the same applies to the Hawkeye Total.

Yeah thats what I was maybe thinking, the "manual" states nothing about activating and says it works on all Land Rover Models, and the pro for other brands maybe.

@Jamiegreen , Do you know if it can edit the immobiliser settings. Whatever we get, we need to deal with a faulty immobiliser – and rather than spend ages tracing wires and replacing components, I'm tempted to set the immobiliser to be disarmed by the key in the door – or just switching the immobiliser off for good, maybe.
