I don't think the l series has a filter but has a depression valve !!

Its near the turbo what ever it it is I'm guessing its a breather or seperator

do you mean the turbo vent filter ? looks like a clear plastic filter about 2 inches long ? if it is , just use an inline fuel filter !

the part number is LLN100140L valve assembly - depression control !

Is it something that needs swapping, mines looking abit greased up ?, what does it do I'm guessing its not what i thought it was like a basic breather or oil separator..

don't know if its on the service schedule as I do not have rave on this laptop ! I would just wash it out in petrol if you want !

if you think about it too long you will get depression !!!!

Lol, seems its this? Now I have had oil leaks from the filter and maybe that's the weakest link in the chain think I'll swap it for the sake of a 20note..
The mother in laws 1 series BMW drinks oil as discribed in This link maybe this is the cause or their petrol version of it..
