Last week I had the brake pedal sticking and then smacking back a few seconds after removing my foot. It then threw an ABS/TC fault.
So, bled my brakes for 6 hours at the weekend. To be fair some tiny bubbles did come out the power circuit and strangely off the N/S caliper, odd as it was the O/S that showed sign of rust. All now seems good again.
What is more worrying was that I changed all the fluid in the summer (new sh!part calipers on the front, new rotors and pads) and the summer before that, yet I had some black flakes come out of the modulator. My reservoir is discoloured inside with black looking stuff, almost like fungal growth. Looked like some of that might have dropped off and been pushed through. Wonder if that could interfere with the valves inside? Also, the fluid level was still exactly on the max line. Parked in exactly the same place. I checked ll the lines thoroughly over the weekend and no sign of any leaks ... so how the hell did bubbles get in?!
