Single adjuster bottom spring is shoe to shoe , top is post on opposite side to adjuster to shoe at adjuster side.

Thanks - I was wondering how to change that.
It has one adjuster at rear. Ive fitted the bigger bore pistons to match having LWB set-up on front, despite the vehicle being a SWB.

Won't this make the rears lock up too easily on a light SWB?

Bigger bore should need more fluid so should come on later .But will it give a greater pressure on the shoe?

who knows.

Ive ordered some snail cam adjusters, assuming that this might be the problem as everything else is new (or will be, didnt do a thing over the weekend, mending cars in wind/rain/hail isnt my idea of fun)

As the adjusters come in sets of 4 Im thinking of adding a pair to the shoes that dont have adjusters. Has anyone done this before ? 10" rear drums, on mine at least, have only 1 adjuster for 2 shoes, which seems a bit odd to me.

dunno, its dark and raining now, will have to wait till tomorrow.
Am looking into my opaque non crystalline ball, seeing darkness, whats involved in fitting an 11" rear setup ?

If the fronts are anything to go by then it's more aggro bleeding them! Might need a bigger master too possibly.

where are you im in gloucester and have a dual circuit cyl in my garage you can try if close obviously not much use if your miles away

thats good of you Jock. Im in Herts, a bit too far.
Final play today probably then I'll get the AA to tow it a mile to a garage.
I'm fed up with not getting something so simple to work. May have to go back to bicycles, much less hassle when they go wrong.

don't change them for changing sake, as the kits are a load of balls.

they can work, but are a bit crap.

make sure your orig ones aren't worn

make sure your orig ones aren't worn and that the pegs on the liners are good. you can get crappy liners where the peg moves about or are too short.

One side works ok so Ill leave alone, other side doesnt push the shoes out enough to stop wheel turning by hand so presumably is knackered. Nowt done today,I was too knackered.

ah excellent if you found the problem.

be careful when tightening the bolt with those kits.. the metal is made of cheese and can easily snap. best to loctite and nip up as much as you dare

Well, its all back together, seems to work after a fashion
Pedal travels a long way before feeling solid
Ive replaced rear hose, re-bled again and again with g-clamps on the wheel cylinders
Havent changed the shoe adjusters - yet
Broke a new easibleed, they are crap, its falling apart and wont go back together.
MOT next, lets see hpw many things it fails on

are the return springs on properly ie not pulled across both shoes seem to have had a run on this in the last year had never seen it before until then and took me ages to work out first time i came across it

he needs to fix the snail cam before it'll work properly. else the first pump will just bring the lining out to the drum and the second will actually stop it

springs are now on properly, one was, one wasnt. There must be a knack to reassembling the shoes cos it took me ages and some rude words.
Not convinced the snail cams do much at all, a job for another day, Iive had enough and am not spending easter on it
