Hi all
this maybe a stupid question, but my series 3 failed it's MOT on a couple of things one being the brake servo not working, can i just remove it and do away with it, and will it then pass the MOT?
cheers

It would probably be easier and cheaper to repair your servo. As far as I can see, to change to a non servo system would mean getting a different pedal box and master cylinder. Are you sure it's the servo at fault - could it be the pipework? John Craddock does a sevo repair kit for a tenner:

Ring up your insurance company and see what they think about downgrading the brake system:D

i should have added to the original post, it is a series 2 chassis, with a series 3 safari body, and converted to diesel, the servo does not have anywhere to get the vacuum from (so i think it has never worked) so this is why i asked the question. but thanks again fenby for your sensible reply.

not recomended simple reason you try stopping an unasisted landroverdoing 30mph with out a servo its a no no cus if your heading for a nice bmw you will not stop untill you hit it and any body suggest that its ok to do need there fooooooooooooooookin arses kicked

my reply was sensible just you dint understand it, you have a couple of options for vacuum take off the standard landrover series butterfly in the intake or a vac pump from something like a pug that will run off a belt

you only have to read about that bloke that killed some kids in is modified landy and doing that to the brakes could happen again
