i am a newbe disco owner and i do not have an owners manuel. Question: where are the fuses for the brake lights? i have the taillights working but no brakelights.

According to my Haynes Service and Repair manual.

First, on 94 models, check build date!

pre-March 1994 build, fuse B3.

March 1994 onwards, fuse 1.

However, in both cases the same fuse applies to your direction indicators. Therefore, if they work save yourself the hassle of trying to read the numbers on the fuse block!

thanks for the info. My direction indicators do work so i assume that the fuse is good. The brakelight on the top of the rear window does work. Any other help would be much appreciated.

What disco is it? On my '94 200Tdi, I have stop and tail bulbs with 2 filaments in the main rear light clusters. It could be that the brakelight filament has gone but the tail light filament is ok, so check the bulbs.
If you have lights in your bumpers, I don't know how they are set up I'm afraid.
