Just taken everything off the drivers side. Now cause it's in 2wd I can hear a drag on the disc as I spin it. It's continuous so there is not buckle. Had other half press break pedal and no movement from caliper. Piston seems as far as it will go in so can the inside of caliper degrade with age? All looked good when I rebuilt but you can't see slight imperfections. There should be no noise when it spins. Will check mounts as well going out again for round 2

Have looked at the low end tie bar and I can rock the engine by hand so guessing this is bad and needs to be replaced. Had other side up and can hear pad brushing the disc so calipers are going on when I receive them.
Replacing the low end tie bar is it unbolt and swap or do I need to jack the engine while I replace the part. You have been a massive help really appreciate the help and advice. Goes to everyone who has given advice on this issue

Yes calipers can degrade, especially if you didn't change the pistons. The only thing pulling the piston back is the seal.
You also have to make sure that the pads move in the caliper bracket. If there is rust under the shims, they will bind.

Tie bar is an easy job. Make sure the car in an neutral then simply unbolt the old bar at both ends and fit the new one in, bolting it back in, simples.

Pistons where changed as well as seals just woundering if the old rusted Pistons have left damage to the caliper body. The carriers have been wire brushed to the point where they are spotless. Can you buy the peices of. Metal the pads sit in on the carrier

The calipers can rust outside of the hydraulic seal, under the dust cover. This rust can drag on the pistons, stopping them retracting correctly.
The shims are available separately if they don't come with the pads. For testing purposes, take the shims out and see if it solves the issue.

That was going to be my next question.
On the low tie bush when turned engine off while I was underneath was quite vilant shake so can it be used or best not use till it's been replaced ??

That's all good yeah can easy rock the engine from under the car is there only 1 under there. Any others worth looking at
