hi does anybody know if any other rover caps fit the disco 2 td5 brake fluid reservoir

looking for 1 I can drill a hole it to fit pressure kit to bleed the brakes - all caps in pressure kit are screw so need to make my own

Hi,
Could you please post some pictures on the end result as I too have a pressure bleeder and would like to do this.

Griff

it was reasonably easy to do

remove the centre sensor - had to break the cap part to remove it

I then drilled it out with a 20 mm wood bit - take care as it bites when it hits the brass/metal contacts
once i got down to the cap i drilled out a 10 mm hole to fit the brass connection
managed to screw it all together and fit to reservoir for a pressure test :)

found it leaks :( the part of the cap that has the seal is not sealed into the cap after drilling out the sensor parts

found some Arraldite in the shed and mixed up enough to seal the inside see second photo - only mix enough to seal the inside I did it in 2 steps about 1 inch from each tube per mix

once it was all set worked perfectly - wont be able to use it on anything else tho:oops:

You can buy a kit for the Disco, cap, seals, strap and adjustable holding down bolts.
or DIY for around £3
go to scrappy for the cap (£2 for mine) and 1/2 hours time
i suppose you could use silicone where i used the arraldite - i didnt have any to hand
