Hi guys quick question
My brakes all round the range rover p38 are sticking due to it being stood for months,
I'm on a tight budget with Xmas coming then holiday in new year, so here's my question
Do I
1,put new piston and seal kits in calipers which I been told is hard £40
2,get some 2nd hand calipers from £60
3,buy new at over £150
Also there is plenty of meat left on the discs but they are rusty could I perhaps clean these up with wire wool and brake cleaner or omething else save foring out over £100 for new discs?

Cheers guys

LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER P38 CALIPER GUIDE PIN KIT. PART- STC1910 | eBay

Hi gems dad , slide pins all free it's definatly calipers I cannot even push one of the front pistons back it's seized tht much.
And vil
I've tried that driving a few miles with brakes on then on off on off on off on off etc still the same

2nd hand calipers for £60...if they have a warranty for a few months, say. Then all you'd need to do is attach the brake pipes and bleed.

Application of the brakes should clean the rust off the discs ;)

I'd be tempted to buy new pads though - the sticking piston may well have caused uneven wear.

my opinion on brakes is,if you intend to keep the vehicle, then new is the way to go,safety is paramount.

Ordered calipers like I said, new pads front and rear, cleaning discs up with wire wool and soapy water, putting back together, mot then she will be up for sale.

ok,different matter if you are selling it,stuff from joe(emmotts) is normally very good.

Yeah getting rid as bought it off a mate very cheap,as he needed getting rid of it as he couldn't take it to his new apartment.due to limited spaces.
