Well, at last I managed to get myself a 1999 DHSE. Been looking at it for a few weeks and finally took the plunge. What a nice motor and it came with 4 months tax and half a tank of fuel. I will put some pictures up when I find out how. Needs 2 new gas struts on the back door and only has one key so I have ordered both. Gas struts on fleabay for £4.25 each plus £1.50 postage. Has other Land rover and rangie stuff as well.

Well done. Budget to replace the air suspension bags if they haven't been done and save yourself a lot of grief with the EAS.

All been checked and 2 new front air bags fitted recently together with new aircon belt, new alternator belt new, needle injector sensor? and new handbrake shoes. New tyres all round too!

So that just leaves the rear ones to do before they start to leak and shag the compressor:D

Well done on your purchase. Worth waiting for the right one. Seems most of the work has been done for you already so enjoy driving it.

One new rear airbag in 2008 so that should be okay for a while so I guess I had better check the other one. The car genuinely seems to have been well looked after. I have bills from the last owner for over £1000 in the last year alone. I will obviously keep a check on it tho'.

How do I put pictures on here?

to attach a picture: use 'post a reply' not 'quick reply' (or whatever it says). then click on the paperclip icon next to the smiley face, and you can upload attachments, including pictures.
you then position the picture in your post with the pulldown just to the right of the paperclip.

Thanks for the info jonbill.

welcome to the family!
Isn't it funny I went to look at that very car I remember the Reg. I'm buggered if I can remember where (I looked at a lot!) though, it was for sale at a garage in the Dorset area I think, it drove well.
Get a power box for it! It'll make a world of differance!

Nan-ber, what lead and where can I get it? do I need it as I have a hawkeye with the eas lead?

Golan, It was sold to the person I bought it from by Dove car sales at Fordingbridge (Hants/Dorset Border) and overpriced at £6400. I have bills paid since Feb 2010 by the previous owner of more than £1200 plus a set of new 18 inch tyres. All in all a very expensive car. In terms of a power box I read on this forum yesterday about the proposed new MOT test and wondered where to go from here. The car certainly needs that little help a power box or chip would give it, especially when towing the caravan. I am wondering what the situation will be for those who already have had the ecu chipped.

That sounds like the place.
It also sounds like the last owner got tucked up!
I guess that if there's going to be an issue with MOT's I'll let you know as mine is dew very soon! :-/
The beauty of a power box is that you can just unplug it for the MOT! ;-)

If the stuff about the MOT is true, then it's another good reason to go for a power box rather than a remap or chip as the power box can just be unplugged for the test:D Not sure how they are going to know if vehicles have been re-mapped or chipped unless they are going to log power output on the rolling road against manufacturers figures:confused:

check out rsw solutions .com, all will be explained there its all to do with t air suspension, i use t usb lead rather than t db9 he talks about, i fitted a power box too mine , you cant be without one.

I'm not sure how your box works but mine has a wire going to the boost sensor so it doesn't start working until the turbo comes on song so I guess I could put a switch on it if I wanted!
