Bought this last week as a non runner (bought off a garage who couldn't get it running)
paint work is rough front osf door/wing is damaged,front doors
drop when opened, has had a sunroof but has been filled in & has runs you could hang your jacket on.
Although on the plus side everything mechanical is new with a mountain of recipes for everything
chassis is mint which doesn't have any signs of welding or patches.
Has got d2 lights fitted on the rear (why??) & a new front panel only 1 little bit of rot I could find is on the lower a pillar next to the sill prob 1" x 1" so I will weld it one night this week.
Spent a bit of time on Saturday fitting the new gearbox oil cooler pipes, top one was a pain as the threads were damaged on the box fitting so removed/cleaned up sorted, next problem (no dip stick tube or dip stick) for the auto box !!!! Where can I get one or does anyone have one??
I went over the engine bay checking & fitting nuts bolts screws jubilee clips(lots of them)
& done the usual rewiring & run it of a 12v pump & 2 x 5ltr one for feed & one return
then she burst into life.
Happy chappie I was lol

Parts required/missing are brake pipes, fuel pipes(ordered), power steering hoses,
autobox dip stick & tube,

Thanks buddy I wasn't looking for another motor, I was looking for bits n bobs for my defender that's not quite finished &
this popped up I couldn't resist haha
It belonged to a fireman who was re-building it but had taken ill & couldn't finish it real shame as he has spent a fair bit on it.

Really how much did you bid if you don't mind disclosing lol

It has been someone's baby & I could see the time/money & effort that someone put into it
not sure why they spent a mint on the mechanical side & done a very poor finish on the body work
looks as if they could see the finish line & rushed it??

My max bid was 2. It ended at 24.

Looks a really good buy tho, looks of good mods that are worth a few quid.....it was the mechanic attention to detail that captured my interest!!! Small world hey!?!

Great minds an all that buddy, I started to add up all the bills & my eyes started to go wonky
got to 7k & gave up!! At least it runs now why a garage couldn't get it to go is beyond me lol

I could have got it for 1800 cash but it was too late to cancel the auction as I only noticed it
with a few hours to go but I had to have it haha

IIRC it was at a Peugeot garage.......there's the answer. What area you live at?

I couldn't find a dip stick \ filler pipe 2nd hand and needed one in a hurry. Had to go to a main dealer and it was £96 plus vat for the tube and that was around 4 years ago. I needed the autobox sump as well and that was only £40 in comparison !

Thanks Buddy 100 odd quid for a tube ffs ive seen the sumps for sale id be better buying another mot fail disco lol

Someone on here should have a toasted auto tranny sitting on a junk heap somewhere that you can get the bit you need off.
That is a great looking Disco mate, lot of work gone into that, it'll be sad to get it dirty, but certainly looks the goods.

Certainly looks like it is cable operated, (no cable yet but can see where it hooks up), and a really fine looking set up, would it not be ok?
I want one on my Disco.

Yes well spotted I have the new cable I will do the brakes & pipes after ive sorted out the
fuel lines,fitted the fuel tank & new lines from the tank missing a fuel tank bracket but got
a dip stick tube & dipper fitted today but ive not got enough atf.
Located a replacement wing in Glasgow still looking for a osf door.

The disc brake conversion looks like the x eng one I will look through the receipts though
