Gents,
Forgive my ignorance but if I was to move the front panel on my series 3 foward until it was in line with the front of the wings would I be able to bolt on a newer bonnet fom a 110 possibly? or is there a load of differences I m not hinking of?

Am a tight git though, and dont want to buy to much things. Thats why I thought about just moving the front panel forward and fitting a newer bonnet, that was all.
I am in the process of doing repairs to the chassis / gearbox cross memeber at present as I have the gearbox out to replace the clutch, so I have loads of different things going round in my head about what I could do.

as someone thats almost done it in reverse (taken defender front panel and bonnet off and replaced them with correct series ones ,id say that youd end up with awkward ugly gaps all over the place ,itd be much much easier to get a defender front panel and bonnet and do it properly ,and you could also take the middle rib out of the screen and fit a single piece of laminated glass and make the job look dead right if you wanted too .

ohhhh !!!!!did i mention id got a defender front panel and grill and bonnet anf screen surround with a single piece of laminated glass in it for sale ??????:D :D

just wondered ???

A yeh might be a bit far from me to come and pick them up though if the price was right, as I m in the north east of scotland

open to offers ,got a slight chip towards the middle and the surrounds been painted ,can take some pics if you want ,might be a bit difficult to post tho ,you know what parcel farce is like with delicates lol

Never heard of a single screen on a series, Is it a special piece of glass?
Normal screens, from what I remember, arn't laminate.

i think the story goes that you take out/grind out the middle rib ,and then get a piece of laminated glass cut to fit the screen surround ,looks just like a sreies screen but without the middle rib
