Hi all. I have a bonnet mounted spare but the fixing doesn’t seem correct to me.
If I mount it hub up, the bolts will stretch the bonnet up and I cannot get the split pin in.
If I mount it hub down, the bolts cannot do up to capture the wheel.
The second way looks more correct but like there’s something missing.
Any photos of an original install would be appreciated. Cheers.

I know the series mounts were designed for hub down when fitting a wheel. But unortuantly cannot help with the defender. Do you have some pictures of your setup may help visualise the issue? Are you using standard wheels?

Hi. Yes standard steel rims and tyres.
This is the best pic I have to hand.

Hub down, the wheel rests on rubber blocks bolted to the bonnet, washers on either side of the mounting plate. If you have a look at the kit parts on the PA Blanchard website it will help. They were also the cheapest place to buy one a couple of years ago.
