On a 200tdi disco, one bolt at least was a bugger to access, open ended spanner only? It's been 16yrs since I removed mine but I also think they were M8, nowt special, I replaced with stainless bolts.

ta, on a 300 tdi you need a 1/2 inch spanner rather than a 13mm to remove which is a bit weird. Good old landrover with their mix of metric and imperial although i guess its Garrets fault.

Certainly didn't find that with mine although I did have to grind down one side of my spanner to fit it into the gap. I expected them to be a nightmare to undo but they weren't too bad
