Hi Ozzie,
I've got a 4 door but I didn't do it. Most people take about 15" out. You need to take it out of the side panels so that you still have the end of the panels that attach to the "goalpost" at the rear.
CHeck out the workshop projects at Devon 4x4 - they did a 2 door but the principal is the same....

I cut 16.5" off mine. at an angle like // so I could keep the wee flap bits that unscrew. Was a good idea at the time but a waste of time really
Did away with the rear body crossmember mountings and just fitted 60x60 box between the crossmember and the chassis and welded it on. No point in messing with rubber mountings on something you've hacked to death

Usually 235/70 unless you have a suspension or body lift.....
