Hi guys,
Has anyone bobtailed a 4 door v8 range rover classic that could point me in the right direction?

NO.
It was a 2 door...

I've cut the back off mine now today. I just wanting to know how to re attach back panel back in and how much to cut of chassis. Cheers.

Hi Ozzie,

I've got a 4 door but I didn't do it. Most people take about 15" out. You need to take it out of the side panels so that you still have the end of the panels that attach to the "goalpost" at the rear.

CHeck out the workshop projects at Devon 4x4 - they did a 2 door but the principal is the same....

welder?

I cut 16.5" off mine. at an angle like // so I could keep the wee flap bits that unscrew. Was a good idea at the time but a waste of time really :)

Did away with the rear body crossmember mountings and just fitted 60x60 box between the crossmember and the chassis and welded it on. No point in messing with rubber mountings on something you've hacked to death :)

How do you attach photos up and I'll post some of what I've done so far so you guys can point me in the right direction. You can see the progress then. Cheers.
