sore arse now!
well done on the rolling report and with the pics.
looks nice, but not my thing. (each to their own-not knocking it!)

questions, if i may-
what time have you got in buiilding it? (man hours)
roughly, whats it cost you?
and finally, whats the tensile strength of welded stainless bar, as your recovery eyes?

well done again!

ps thought the exhaust needed moving, was astounded with where you put it!

think hes gone now nrgserv

was up in the for sales a while back as all his mates had gone back to cars and wanted a golf iirc

I agree :( Can't understand putting in all that time & effort to flog it on
I don't understand this world sometimes, although on a personal note driving it over villiage greens, standing on the roof while parked in the middle of a road is enough to get any one with a Landie a bad name, be it for a memorial rally or not. No personal offence intended, just my thoughts.

Yes, i personally didnt like it - just another cut-n-shut, BUT thats just my opinion, his workmanship and effort were commendable in my view.

Maybe he got nicked for his roof-surfing antics :)

maybe he got sacked from work for spending too much time on a guvvy job.

been there, jot the t shirt.

now work for meself!

yup he sold it and got a golf. i think he only did it because all his mates had them, they all got little cars so he sold it and got the same. dont know how much he got for it as after himself and all the kids in their chavved up cars came and made so much noise/disturbance outside my house, he stopped talking to me, maybe he realised how meny people in the village actually reported them to the police? but yeah. this thread is just going to take up space on the server so lock/deletion time?

Thats a bit severe, lock maybe. The worst part of the thread was that i didnt see it actually doing something worthwhile. The standard of work and effort was stunning i thought and may be of interest to others.

Well talk about coincidence!! I was off out this morning Greenlaning. and this very bobtail was parked up on the side of the road about a mile from home. After reading this thread yesterday, I couldn't believe it!! :) So obviously the guy that bought it lives just down the road. Oh and for the record it was muddy..:D

What can i say its Mint !!!!!! thinking of a similar mod but i want the rear tyres to come past the rear of the landie by bout 2", love the snorkel where did you get it ,,
BD

Excellent!!! I can use some of this info for the research I am doing, the rear end of my Disco is fast disapearing, I was thinking of a Landranger kit or a way of useing the whole chassis as not to upset the mot inspector, also there isn't a place in Shetland (that I know of) that can do an engineers report, has anybody found out if chopping a little bit of chassis needs engineers report?

Just seen the thread and read it all the way through

Despite the fact that you have a fitted out workshop and friends that can perform jobs you cant (not jealous at all honest - not) I think you have done a great job. TBH a bobtail wouldn't work for me but I can appreciate all the hard work not to mention courage needed to take on a project like this.

I can't wait to see pictures of it getting dirty

Well done.

just spent the last 2 hours going through this blog and your motor looks fanfookingtastic. now decided mine has to go matt black. good job mate

Respect:) for putting the work in , But i carnt see the point of all this work for little gain. if it were me , then it would have to be a pick up, or trayback.:D

IMO its not cool to cut the back off a disco. they are useful as a big full body vehicle. if you want a nifty challenge motor, get a 90.

ye, but when you got one where the back ends about to fall off ,then ya better of tray backing it in my view, but everyone to there own..

its only the bottom half thats falling off.

take mine for example, twas ruthlessly ****ed, now its very useable.

if it was a trayback i couldnt use it for laning and everything gets covered in **** on PNP!
