Hi, looking at changing our Discovery for a Defender, looked at a nice T plate yesterday but it had some blistering on the roof joint and some on the back door, the guy said that touching this up was difficult due the alloy being corroded underneath, could anyone tell me if that's right ?
Thanks !!!

It's normal and not really a problem. Most Land Rovers will kepp you to busy with more important stuff to worry about cosmetics.

blistered paint ..... i ask ya .....TUT ....

Oh dear, seems like I've asked the wrong question  but then there seems to be people on here who strip LR's down to the last nut and bolt and then put them back together so they look like new so I can't see why a question about blistered paint should be a problem !
Maybe should buy a LANDCRUISER, they dont fall apart quite so easily !
Now, that should get your hackles up !! :)

Thanks Steve, I was just starting to wonder if "forums" have had their day as it's hard to find any these days were someone with little knowledge of the subject can get an intelligent answer to a simple question.
Just beats me why people reply to a post when they haven't got the answer or is this supposed to be humour, ha ha !

The corrosion underneath is easily treatable by rubbing it back to bare metal, filling it if you wish and then spray it up.

Unfortunately most of us on here have mechanical problems etc so its kinda entertaining to take the p*ss out of paint issues. As for Land Crusiers - quality vehicle get out there an buy yourself one, along with a remortgage for parts and a lottery win for the fuel it'll use!!!
cheers
tom

"It's normal and not really a problem"........................that's not what I asked, I know it's normal for defenders to blister, I just wanted to know if it was that difficult to overcome it, that's all, if I wanted humour I'd watch an Al Murray or Billy Conolly dvd !

billy conolly .... now there's a funny man .... good sense of humour and funny storys .... thats what you should be doing then cos this aint the forum for you ...

i'll shut up now cos it seams my humour dont fit with ya ..... bye..

I can't be arsed with people who ask questions then chuck their toys out of the pram when they answers don't suit em. In fact I'm fast coming to the conclusion that I just can't be arsed, period.

My back door is looking like a teenagers face, was advised it would need a new skin, or replace whole door, but as tothers said got more to worry about than how me door looks, wish I had time to sort it out but tis way down the list of jobs to do.........
