RX8 seats fit perfectly, and you have room to keep the middle seat in without any modification!

I wired my driver seat in to the battery permanently (I have a bank of perm lives under the passenger seat)

to access the battery under passenger there is 4 bolts into the base of the passenger seat (goldish coloured ones)take all them out and the ass of the seat comes away completely. leave the back to off completely, and put the front two in HAND TIGHT (trust me) if you have to edge of the rail flush with edge of box you will be able to slide seat forward for easy access to the hand tight bolts and the base comes out giving you full access to battery box!

You need to take off pretty much all the brackets, drilling out the meaty rivets (they were a pain in the back) but do not grind them incase you set fire to the foam.

on the driver seat you need to keep the gold rivet and bracket in the middle to make sure the rail still spins into the driver to slide foward and backward (i made that mistake)

you need to know this to make electrics work

Seat Motion
Grey - +12v
Purple - Ground

Lumbar
Yellow w/red stripe - +12v
White w/yellow stripe Ground

Seat Heater
Blue - +12v

Passenger seat
Seat heater
Red +12v
Black - ground

Heated seats work, 12v is 12v, just have a on off switch in line so they do not burn out


Marty, can you give me a blow by blow account of fitting the seats please? I can't quite work it out yet just looking at it. The electrics won't be a bother but the mechanical bits are another matter. What to cut off and what not. Do they fit straight onto the existing rails or do i need to drill?

Thanks Mate but I've fitted them. Passenger side was ok but drivers side was a real git because of the brass nuts sticking out of the underside of the rails. I had to grind out a space in my extension rails for them to drop into. Just got to wire them in now, not as easy as I thought, how many relays are you using for each seat?

No relays :p
I should really wire one into the heated seat wire, but not done it yet, I have them wired to my dash with a flick switch, when they are capped the power is off to them, heated seats it powered from behind my dash off an ignition live anyway.

the rest of my seat is permanently wired to the battery without a single issue yet and has been wired that way for about a month and a half now

Hmm that sounds so much easier. I wanted to shove them straight into a live I have underneath my cubby box with an inline fuse but everyone keeps going on about relays etc. I do know that they are rated at 120amps though so I'm mindful of they draw, I got a wiring diagram from a Mazda forum. Check out Huffhuff's diagram he put on his thread, "pics of aftermarket steering wheel" we went off course a bit about Mazda seats.
 
Yeah, the fuse is at the auxiliary fuse box end. Here is a pic, not great or the neatest job. As always, it has started as a test/temporary thing bit of wiring...

Here is a generic diagram. Obviously just replace the fogs for the seat, I used a 20a fuse and used an ignition live for the other side of the switch along with ground for the LED backlight.
