I put chequer plate on the wings today. I just love a bit of riveting!Oh and some Mantec roof bars. Just the heated Corbeau buckets, Momo wheel and giant sound system and pa to go.

Have you fitted RX8 seats? If so do the heated elements work with a defender, can you get access to the seat boxes? I'm massively intrugued!!

RX8 seats fit perfectly, and you have room to keep the middle seat in without any modification!
I wired my driver seat in to the battery permanently (I have a bank of perm lives under the passenger seat)
to access the battery under passenger there is 4 bolts into the base of the passenger seat (goldish coloured ones)take all them out and the ass of the seat comes away completely. leave the back to off completely, and put the front two in HAND TIGHT (trust me) if you have to edge of the rail flush with edge of box you will be able to slide seat forward for easy access to the hand tight bolts and the base comes out giving you full access to battery box!
You need to take off pretty much all the brackets, drilling out the meaty rivets (they were a pain in the back) but do not grind them incase you set fire to the foam.
on the driver seat you need to keep the gold rivet and bracket in the middle to make sure the rail still spins into the driver to slide foward and backward (i made that mistake)
you need to know this to make electrics work
Seat Motion
Grey - +12v
Purple - Ground
Lumbar
Yellow w/red stripe - +12v
White w/yellow stripe Ground
Seat Heater
Blue - +12v
Passenger seat
Seat heater
Red +12v
Black - ground
Heated seats work, 12v is 12v, just have a on off switch in line so they do not burn out

what do you mean seat extension rails?
landy seat comes out completely, and the complete mazda seat (minus the brackets) go in, including the rail sliders?

The Mud rails that give you more height and leg room.

ahhh just googled it. Mine never had them in the first place, I would take them out, you can adjust mazda driver seat up and down. I have mine completely flush on the box.
Also, there is a rail that runs about 4 inches closer to the front than the bulkhead, I cut through and removed that so the seats could travel all the way back.

Nope miles away but I just bought a leather set with full electrics and heat. Picking them up tomorrow. They have the rear seats too, I'll flog them on plus my current Landy original seats which will pay for the whole lot!

I'm at the stage where I need to wire mine in now, so the above will help, thank you. Hopefully i'll find some time before the snow comes
I used an angle grinder on all the brackets, took chuffing ages! So not to damage the leather or foam I placed an old town over exposed bits and just played careful. I took the rails off the original seats at bolted them to the bottom of the RX8 rails. There was a reason for this, just cannot for the life of me remember why without looking. The added bonus is it raises them a few inches so clears the box when moving back and forth.
Regarding battery, I fitted an anderson connector to my front grill so will rarely need to get in there. When I do, it's still only 4 bolts. I have been meaning to make some quick-release fixings with plots pins but never got around to it.
Do people wire the seat heaters in together to one switch or have them individually switched? Ta
