Morning Folks,

Was looking to see if anyone is selling a Rear wheel bike carrier or know where I could get one that holds 5 bikes ?

Won't a 5 bike carrier be too much for the spare wheel bracket?

If you have a tow bar fitted, why not go for this option?

Thule may have what you're looking for

Thanks Lammie81 ,was thinking that as well. Will try to find a decent tow bar carrier, only problem is the spare wheel gets in the way grrr.

Also maybe you can point me in the right direction am after a genuine A Bar S/S for my Freelander 2004 mine is the new lights.

I had bought one from London a few years ago but sold the bar when I was trading in the vehicle bit decided against selling it and when I wet to re order another the Supplier had shipped 100 units out to someone in South Africa.

Is there any LR Suppliers out there that you can recommend that may keep these in stock ?

do not for get if you are in the uk then you need a number plate on the back of your bikes as well as light better using a trailer board ,

Thule do a decent bike carrier which fits on the tow ball but you'll need an adaptor to keep it clear of the spare wheel-the whole thing is uber expensive though, I'd expect it to cost around the £500 mark :-(

I'll have a look at the local suppliers about the a bar and get back to you.

Regarding the spare that is in the way . . .
This is my solution on a 2 bike Holdfast carrier. Then if I use the Disco, I remove the adaptor and slide the same tow bar into the Disco

I'll be buying a trailer in the near future and want to use a trailer carrier as we are 5 cyclist in the house.

Personally I think the hanging type bike carriers damage my bikes when there is more than one fitted

out of interest how does your carrier fit to the wheel? And how do the bikes secure to the carrier?, I'm in the market for one as the one I got on eBay doesn't fit due to the brake light arm behind.
What sort of price are you looking for?

Just my 2 peneth. 5 bikes on a rack poking out the back of the car is madness - regardless of whether its supported by the spare wheel (which is double madness) or tow bar. If you want to carry a load like that, get a trailer! No brainer.

We used to occasionally put 3 on the back of our Disco, and I thought that was stretching it a bit far.

Rizzle I don't know where you are

I have a 4 bike rack that originally was bought for the our Discovery
a boss is fitted behind the spare wheel and the rack itself is fitted and padlocked in place, takes seconds to fit.

When the wife bought her Freelander I modified the boss to fit both vehicles.
If you are close enough you are welcome to borrow the rack or try it on yours.
