Crossmember from Yrm arrived. looks tidy.

Anyone know why the side that faces the boot floor when fitted is not welded to the crossmember ?
Is it to wedge the floor support strip in, then weld it up??

anyways, cleaned off some more of the chassis and inner rear quarters and gave a good dose of Fertan !!

off to look for some acrow props to give the rear some support before I remove rest of crossmember.

I am loving this thread. I am going through the same journey but have decided to concentrate on one area at a time or else I would go mad
Keep up the good work

I assume the boot support sits on the lip and is then welded on (top and bottom) ??

obviously after everything is aligned first .

I been using it over all the disco. Treat with Fertan, Two coats Bonda, then two coats of Manor Chassis Black.

It seems to be pretty good at keeping the rust away.
I did a bit of googling and searching on rust treatment etc and it got great reviews, though I'm sure there's other stuff just as good...... not cheap though.....about £37 for 2.5l on fleabay.
