I get e exactly what you mean. No mate. Not at all. Couldn't get bottom bolt undone for sh1t. Then did the top two. Managed to knock the top one out now can't free the other. Hard to swing a sledge where it is. I covered the whole thing in deox (rust eater) and have left until next week. Working on it on week days will mean I have no guilt about noise

I need holiday!!

Couldn’t work out why this wasn’t working !!

Oooops........

I did something similar with my grinder, but I plugged it in to the extension lead and nothing, looked through kitchen window and it was plugged in but not switched on, took me half an hour and a changed fuse before I figured it out.

I changed my sockets and doot handles for chrome ones and couldn't work out why the drill didn't work for ages. Didn't even think it was because I'd switched all the sockets off at the board. I changed fuse too :D:oops:

Not much done today ..... was going to give rear chassis 2nd coat black but ‘‘twas a bit of damp in the air.

So I fitted my rear trailing arm back on , used old nuts to keep it secure. Will fit the new nylocks when all is finished and Disco is on the flat. Also got the nuts off the front n/s arm , they came off moderately easy.

Maybe remove front arm tomorrow and strip down front suspension.

No photos, phone no battery. Will post piccies tomorrow.

Still not painty weather , so been undoing more bolts.

If I take these two out, will anything move while I’m under the car and try to kill me ?

The car has axle stands under left side chassis and rear left axle.

There will be nothing to stop the axle rotating forward due to weight of diff nose.

Support diff nose and should be good.

Those bolts are normally corroded solid :(

Thanks for diff tip.

The one bolt is turning, but the other is rock solid !!!!

Also I couldn’t get castle nut off A ball, so it looks like I’ll be cutting through the ball.

Update.

Got nut off n/s Aframe chassis end , bolt loose.........fekkin exhaust rubber in way !!!
The n/s frame attached to the ball joint is loose, so plan is to remove exhaust rubber......(dunno how, but that’s for contemplating tonite over v. Large G&T ) .... drop arm from chassis end and wiggle off bolt at ball end.

Then......undo bolt from o/s chassis end.(managed to get it to move so should be ok ), maybe then use arm as a lever to break the seizure off bolt at ball end.

Then cut through Ball joint.

Front of diff is propped up.......I got more axle stands than Halfords. !!!

If I remove the exhaust bracket here .....

.......will the rubber swing out of way.??

Also, I just know the bolt will snap !! Does anyone know if the nut is welded on or loose??

Not removed a rubber before ... ahem !!

There’s metal bits going through the holes. Are they part of the rubber ?

No
one metal rod is attached to chassis - see yo pic.... the other rod is attached to exhaust, Rubber slides over both.. judicious use of gt85, ed50 or similar to lube the holes in the rubber.

Lol....didn’t mean to be shouty.....fekkin stupid nuts !!!!

The nut is in the wrong place for me to put much force against. I can’t bend over for long and lying on the ground also hurts, which is why I thought the easiest way is to cut it off with disk cutter.

Fair play putting on this graft in with your bad back. I'm fairly fit and was once strong and I'm aching like **** tonight. I don't know how the old boys keep their motors going - I know I'll be having a ramp when I move!
