I drilled mine out, just start with a small one then work up to full bore size for the hole

once the heads gone tap it and it should buckle and drop out if theres any small flakes still holding it in

I use oxy acetylene to get it red 'ot, glowing like a cherry and they nearly always come out. If not, they get a blast of oxygen from the torch and it blows then right on out of their stupid hiding place.

Granted, it might ruin the surrounding ali but hey... you bought a Landy

I would always try to use spanners to undo or snap an awkward nut and bolt. If it's not possible to spanner it out I use a tungsten carbide burr in a die grinder.

I think I will attack the bolts again this weekend if it stops raining. I must remember the old saying "No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought". I prefer a hammer and chisel.

I use penetrating oil and a metre long scaffold pole offcut over the heel of the spanner or socket if there`s enough room. The "extension" also works well on over-tightened wheel nuts when you get a flat tyre , particularly if you can stand on it.

all landrovers should come with the bottles in the back, its by far the best thing for removing anything from a landrover.

With a bit of pratice youd be surprised what you can burn off without touching the surrounding area. you can burn a nut off a bolt and not touch the threads on the bolt Once you get up to it, its the first choice for corroded anything

Fokin corrosion, my landy lay for a bit, soft brakes now so quick bleed and heh presto, my arse, all the fokin bleeders have disolved. If the world ever ends then no coont is gona ever dig up a landie in a few million years thats for sure. Might find a tesco shopping bag though.

I used various methods today. I used an angle grinder on some but did bite into some surrounding bodywork but not too much. I also used a socket with an extension bar and a long handle with a scaffold pole for leverage on the seat belt bolts. The grinder worked in the corners as the cutting disc is worn down but if it was new it would not fit into the tight corners. Tried the air chisel, waste of time, possibly due to the quality of the chisel bit.

I would try to break the bolt first with brute force and ignorance, if that fails I would take the dremel to it.

had to resort to oxy propane instead.
