Removed the 3 x 8mm nuts and end casing from starter to find the outer brushes cream crackered
Dropped off at local car shop at 4.30pm on a saturday afternoon and he says no problem £35 come back tomorrow at 1pm and i will have some new brushes in it
Picked up today, fitted back in 1/2hr and started straight away
Removal - Battery & battery tray and engine cover
1st nut & bolt easy to see on side of starter, 2nd bolt a 13mm needs a mirror and a long extension to it from battery tray under all the wiring, Easy when you know where it is
Hardest part getting it out & back in through tight gap between coolent pipes
1 hr to remove & refit
Dealer cost £300 - £350
Cost me 1hr of my time & £35
Result
A busy weekend which included an oil & filter, aif filter & pollen filter change and finding i was posted the wrong fuel filter
