I bought my bulkhead from Ashtree going back 5-6 years now. It was an exchange bulkhead and they supplied it very quickly and earlier than they originally stated. I seem to think it was just over 4 weeks if I remember correctly. No hint of any rust on mine although it's only a weekend vehicle and now garaged in recent years too. I also bought the galvanised front rad panel and bulkhead brackets from them and also got the cappings regalved. I've read where some people have waited a long time for Ashtree to turn things around but my experience was good.

Good to here, yeah i need a front panel aswell so mite see how the bulkhead is and buy one off them, although there is a guy on ebay that sells them and they look pretty good and pretty cheap aswell.

The latest buzz on the series 2 club forum is "Owens" - apparently they have a 8 week lead time at the moment

Nobody is really sure about the product yet however as "they" have only just started to make series 2 offerings - apparently "they've" been doing series 3 for a while...

...so I can't give a direct recommendation - just a heads up there's another chap out there doing this kind of stuff.

The price quoted so far has been about 2K for one with out any galvansing gunk on it if I remember correctly

Wow, just started reading a few threads on here as I'll be starting my 2a resto soon. 2k for a bulkhead

Hope it's good, got someone coming to look at repairing mine first
Yeah i wanted to go that way at first but most after seeing pic's said it was too far gone to repair then i decided on getting a recon'd galved one instead a lot more expensive but saves a lot of time :)

Galved and etch primed

Paddocks has this bulkhead, but I really do not understand if it is galvanised and then painted, or...
It says "manufactured with zinc coated steel. Etched primed and sealed". What does that mean from a technical point of view? That it is cheap crap, or...?
Anyone with experience of the (Paddocks) part in question?
