axle stands wont smash ya teeth in when ya next to the motor, hilifts can (notice i didnt say will)

just don't look after it and treat it like ****. treat em mean, keep em keen. the jack will do what ever you want when ever you tell it! buy a trolley jack then, fine unless you off road it or need to lift the landy high. 4ft is fine too, but the extra ft comes in useful if using as a winch.

also what on earth are you guys doing which is making it topple without warning!

I have all 3, hi-lift, good wide trolley jack, and airbag jack. i always tend to use the trolley jack. It's not your Halfrauds £20 special, but one of these Sealey Trolley Jack Premier 2tonne Low Entry Super Rocket Lift - 2000LEQ - Trolley Jacks - Sealey Power Tools - DIY and Tools from DIYTools.co.uk - Your First Stop For All Things DIY ! so far it's done everything it's been called for. I've not unpacked the air jack out of the box yet (never needed it) so can't comment.
As for using the hilift as a winch, never needed to do that either as I have a 12000lbs one on the front, and other have them as well.
