For my 1990 110CSW 2.5td?

10w40? 15W40?

Castrol GTX Diesel oil?
Halfords 15w40?

Ovoline Diamond? That's if I can find any in Kent........

Mineral? Semi Synth? Fully Synth?

What's gonna be best to keep the bugger running once the weather turns more ****e?

Ovoline Tractor Universal 10W-40W.
From your local Agricultural Merchants.
Top quality oil, but packaged and marketed for farmers, so much cheaper than Halfrauds.

I heard this stuff does wonders

I found 10-40 a bit thin for my Tdi, took it back out after only 3k miles and replaced it with some 15-40 tractor engine oil called Turbo-Gold which is about £30 for a 20 litre drum (cheaper than one oil change using Halfrauds oil)

Thanks gents!

Can't find Ovoline in Kent so far.
I've found the Carlube Gold Turbo Diesel, but only in 1 litre bottles!
I'll keep looking......

If you just want some engine oil then ovoline universal tractor oil is ok

It's not exactly top quality because it's a Fuchs second brand so additive package will be reduced.

Go for a 15w/40 in the older OneTen turbo diesel, Shell list a product called Rimula R3 X with an added note stating:

a.HELIX PLUS 10W-40 / HELIX SUPER 15W-40 also approved but oil change interval is halved

So the oil obviously needs something a little bit extra to cope with life inside the TD engine otherwise they would just list helix plus 10/40(semi synth) and helix super 15w/40 (mineral) as equal alternatives.
