I assume that you had a spare turbo c/w actuator there Ben. Or do you know of where to get just the replacement actuator?

I've had a set of britpart (spits) watts linkage bushes sat in the shed for a while, just not got round to fitting them. Well after reversing and having the rear axle jack itself about I thought enough was enough, so here's the state of the in situ linkage, which someone has replaced the outers with polybush at some point, manky or what!:

Dropped it off with the aid of a BFH, spaces were too tight for the impact gun:

Don't think it should do this lol:

Pushed out all the bushes, the outer arm poly bushes came out easy:

Wirebrushed the bits, primed, aint painted:

The outer bushes are nylon sleeved and are utter cack, they split in the press, so will re-use the poly bush outers:

Ready to go back on:

And fitted:

Annoying movements and noise gone... until the brtipart bushes fail!

Just the rest of the underside to remove/clean/paint/reinstall now :p

Aye, well that might not be so far off, got someone sourcing me a replacement chassis to get galved after finding cracks in both rear chassis legs, they weren't there last year.

Wonderful!

Superb way to start a build

Will give you plenty of enthusiasm to keep on painting

I'm keeping a watchful eye on my chassis, it's not gonna live forever, though it's not a big deal like a d2 chassis can be

I'll probably change mine through desire rather than it downright falling apart, it's just got a couple small holes and ugly swollen areas right now

Well I've got a few bits tucked away to swap on when I do the chassis...

New galved YRM rear arches and stays
X-brake
Refurbed gearbox - which you know about
Refurbed T-box - in progress
Front & rear HD bumpers are coming off for shotblasting, galving & powdercoating (or might get zinc based powder coating - thoughts?)
Sliders being redone
NAS hitch being redone
Tank strap probably getting done :D
Axle tubes almost certainly being painted.
Galved front shock turrets.

Regards the galv thing

Powder coat is **** I hate it and avoid it

Zinc galv is THE way to protect

If you must then paint over it, not powder coat.

If I could paint decently I'd think about it, but I suck so it might have to be galv and PC.

Powder coat doesn't stick to galv though mate, I've tried and failed!

My bumpers etc are a patchy mess

Etch primed paint sticks better!

Painting really isn't that hard Ben, You've got a compressor so I'd just buy some 2k satin black (or whatever colour you want) and give it a go :)

A fab read. Took me nearly a week of evenings from start to finish. I now know who to call if I get a problem.
I was trying to figure out how to paste the bass unit picture into here and then add: The problem with loud music is you can't hear when things wear out!
Next project?

Done naff all of late on the motor, bad weather keeping me away :)

Anyhow, a few weeks back the wipers stopped working properly on intermittent, turns out there's a link inside the motor housing that burns out - couldn't be bothered faffing with it so fitted a ****part replacement. Works fine but is a bit noisy.

Also fitted some PIAA Silicon wiper blades - couldn't find silblade's anywhere in UK and import costs were ridiculous.

The PIAA blades are U hook so I had to retro fit D1 arms to the motor to be able to use them.

Big thumbs up on how they perform though - miles better than the Bosch standard D2 blades!
