Hi guys. Ive been offered a black G4 discovery 53 plate with 76k on the clock. It needs an engine which ive been looking at around 800-1000 at various places. The disco has been offered to me at 2200 so lets say ill have £3500 in it if I was to replace the lump. The air suspension has been replaced with springs. Outside the car is tidy just needs a clean and polish. Interior wise the drivers bolster has cracked. Otherwise looks sweet. 4 recent tyres fitted. Ive looked on ebay(as you do) and the only one on there is 10k with 99k miles but is that overpriced?
What do you think?

"If" you can put it on the road for £3500, its a bargain. Same rules apply as every other Disco though. Check the chassis, then check it again....:)

Sounds like a good deal but as everyones saying 3500 can soon turn in to 4500 if things start going wrong with the chassis and new engine...

If it is a genuine G4 and you're confident that is all that wrong with it then it sounds very good. Does it have FSH and can you verify it's a G4? With that age and mileage a proper one could be £8-£9k so even after discounting a bit for the engine swap and suspension changes you've got a fair bit of value in there if you're buying at £2200.

It's definitely not a 'real' G4 Event car - it may be part of the LTD Edition G4 Homage cars.

Based on a GS and with plastic seats and not much else. Unles you're impressed by G4 stickers I can't see it's worth buying at £2200.

+1

Nothing special at all, just seats and stickers.
