Hi, just opened up my Becm (1995 2.5 diesel) to find a burnt out transistor, does anyone have a layout of which one does what? or is it in Rave? which i have but its at home and i'm at work

The Mosfets ("Transistors") are obsolete and have been unavailable for years, even my stock is shrinking.
Just replace the whole power board and use the existing logic board. Replace it with the same type of board...either "L" or "H"
You need to check the wiring and connectors etc. for signs of damage however.

I believe the MOSFET's are still available but whether you can buy one off I do not know, NXP Semiconductors seem to still make them try this link IC TOPFET HIGH SIDE SW TO220-5 - BUK202-50Y,127

Tried them about 4 years ago (They were obsolete that long ago) and they wanted to sell me a minimum of 1000 of each which was ridiculous !!
However, I happened to be "Shipped" over to our sister plant in Singapore for a couple of months in 2007 and one of the Engineers put me on to a local, small electronics shop who got, and sold me 50 of each size. They were Philips (OEM), still in their bags.

Lucas, the manufacturer of the Becm, no longer manufacture new units as their stock of components is depleted. As far as I know, they only recondition returned units...if they don't have the components in stock, they just bin the faulty board(s) and it's one less Becm on the planet.

I managed to get hold of three or four transistors, and a couple of relays for the power board. If I remember correctly, I got them from DigiKey, but I could be wrong. The 202 is NLA, but I found a table for cross-reference and found an equivalent. Google was my friend through the whole process.

It should be mentioned that my service of the powerboard was only a partial success and I ended up forking over £440 to Callrova for a reconditioned and programmed BECM which is now waiting for me at the post office. Can't wait! :)
I will have a look back home to see if I still have a spare transistor. If I do, I'd be happy to drop it in an envelope for you.

Hi
I just checked the stock. I have one 203 and two 202's. They're yours if you want them - just PM your home address and I'll drop them in an envelope. Might take a few days from Norway, but shouldn't be too long.

Let me know!

Henrik

By reading these posts about parts & how obsolete they are means i must have the largest stock of spare parts for these becm's in the world.

I have thousands of everything.
