Oil on the belt will certainly cause problems, the diameter of the alternator pulley is very mall, it doesn't need much for the belt to slip.I'm actually starting to believe it mabey my alternator causing all these issues tranfailsafe ect all the faults I have an oil leak and I think its possibly wetting the belt and causing it to slip therefore not putting out correctly
I'm abit in over my head I think, it was my brother who said he thinks the oil has deipped onto the belt but I'm not sure were to start on finding the leak it needs to be on a ramp realy to investigate and would I be looking at a new alternatorOil on the belt will certainly cause problems, the diameter of the alternator pulley is very mall, it doesn't need much for the belt to slip.
Why a new alternator? New belt, clean up pulleys and stop oil leak.I'm abit in over my head I think, it was my brother who said he thinks the oil has deipped onto the belt but I'm not sure were to start on finding the leak it needs to be on a ramp realy to investigate and would I be looking at a new alternator
Why a new alternator? New belt, clean up pulleys and stop oil that's good news then I was hoping it wouldnt be a case of getting a new one
