Hi All.

Have had two occasions of flat battery recently.

Will do a deep cycle charge over next week but think it will need a new battery. No other signs to make me think there is anything else going on.

So my question is, I want the best battery with the longest warrantee I can get.

Any suggestions of what should I get?

I left the lights on and when i went to start it I had a flat battery.went to open the bonnet to get a jump start and the bonnet release cable came off on the drivers side.
To open the bonnet I had to take off the front bumper as I have a bullbar fitted to get the grill off and managed to release the bonnet.( this was in a lay by in Georgia)
Got a jump start from a passing motorist and carried on.
when i camped at night and all was quiet I heard what sounded like a rely cutting in and out .Sounded like it was coming from around the fuse box front headlight bonnet area but as soon as bonnet opened it would not do it ubtill you walked away then it did it nd not for another 10 mins.
Disconnected bonnet open warning switch , 10 mins later CLICK CLICK.
Come morning battery flat.
got another jump start and still CLICK CLICK every 10 min or so.
Camped again but disconnected battery this time so it started up ok in the morning but still click click
still trying to find what relay was working until i happened to check the headlight wiper and it had got jammed under the headlight unit and was trying to park itself every 10 mins or so.Released it from being jammed it parked itself and been good ever since.
I must have leant against it while trying to release the bonnet and it wasn't noticeable behind the bull bar

Hi, BOSCH 020 is the one you want.
 
Well. I can't find anything wrong and it looks to have its original battery still on, so yep 020 Bosch it is.

Don't personally rate Bosch battery's we used to fit them at work but they never seemed to last we moved onto using exide they seem great :)
 
Try battery megastore on line, had my battery for over 4 years no problem and their prices are good.
Lots of batteries come from the same couple of factories just with different branding.

The one I got from there lasted 2 months and was in sweeden when it packed up so could not claim on it .
I did send them an email and had no reply
now i see euro spares has a bosch 20 for under 85 pounds
 
At the moment im trying to fit a second battery using a series 3 stater rely to isolate the second battery in the back of the car and manually switch it for charging and jump starting when the main one fails.
had it working for about 5 min but then the solenoid coils must have failed as it dont work any more and the solenoid doesn't click in so im wondering if the coils have burnt out or just another britpart failure

What rating is the relay? You trying to use it to pass the starter current?
If you are trying to switch manually for starting, a 500amp marine battery selector switch does the job. A relay driven from the D+ line to the coil can be used to automatically connect the battery to the alternator for charging, I use the starter relay from a lawn tractor for this as it will take a couple of hundred amps.
