1. Re battery - as said previously you need a good quality battery with at least 650 cold cranking amps (cca) that's the ability of the battery to start a car, plus about 75-80amp/hr rating - unless you have loads of extras such as winch/lights etc etc:

2. Re the engine cutting out: A. clean out the fuel sedimenter; B. replace the fuel and air filters; C. Take off the rubber elbow and check to see that you are getting plenty of 'suck' from the induction stroke of the engine.

Cheers
Dave

thanks mates...i will check all i can ...but how to to check fuel sedimenter??...

For nrgserv..she wont die off when i press accelarator as soon as i put the auto gear to reverse....but the problem is i cant press accelarator when there is BIG TRUCK park right behind me can i ..??...so it happens if i didnt press it...especially when there is some resistance such as a bump, uphill, stone just right behind her.....why is that ..??...n it happens too (few times not always) while theres is nothing behind her...sometimes....when put to D also happens...as if low power input or something i have no idea......

so if it happens i assume low power fm battery (thats what i thought)...so i swicth off A/C ,lights,cd player..n start her again...sometimes she start immediately ..sometimes it takes a while..like 3 to 5 mins to start....what kind of disease is this mates..???.....

Why:confused: when is 1000 MCA which is still around 750 CCA just like a lot on other batteries. Have a look at the spec. "Cold Start Marine Cranking Amps":
Read the reviews from all the Landy owners on their website-good enuf for me

Hi NG, I can respond about the fuel sedimenter but to be honest I did not understand the rest of your post, at all.

The fuel sedimenter is a device in the fuel system for separating water and debris from the fuel.

This device is located on the inside of the chassis, towards the rear of the car on the right hand side, just in front of the rear wheel. It looks like a grey filter housing.

To remove the bowl for cleaning you will need an 1mm ring spanner to undo the bowl retaining bolt situated on the top of the assembly. Remove the bolt then remove the bowl and clean it. Be ready for a bit of lose diesel.

thanks a lot TBL...i will try to check it out ...i guess thats the cause of her cutting out suddenly...

so you engage gear without trying to go anywhere, it dies?
or
you engage gear and try to go somewhere, and it dies?

i'm now confused with truck behind you:confused:

You'll need an 11mm ring spanner to remove it mate not a 1mm and if you're wondering what it looks like...........

I just got one of these I ordered it about 9;30 last Wednesday morning (on line) and it arrived before 9 the next day and I didn't even pay extra for next day delivery

IMHO they are very good batteries, and the duel terminals are a great idea for all your accessories

isnt a leisure battery slow charge / slow discharge?
didnt think they liked 40A of glow plug and 500A of starter shoved across the terminals.
to do with bending the plates inside.

praps definition of leisure battery has changed since i last bought one.
if it sez it on the packet, well why not!
