Hi all need some advise once again, got a platinum heavy duty 770cca 110amh battery, how long would it take to fully charge with a 15amp charger(streetwize swbcled15 from screwfix). Cant get my head around the maths involved. battery been on charge now since 3.30pm friday and still only 50% charged. Battery only fitted new in december.
Any help will be greatly received

hey! Usually around 8hr with a reasonable charger? Is the charger set to a trickle charge or a normal charge?

Fully automatic charger. You got on/off switch and 12/24 v switch. Supposed to supply bulk charge, topping charge then trickle charge. It been on charge now for 48 1/2 hours and still only at 50% charged. All cells are bubblin and battery is warm but not hot. Is it OK to leave in on or should I turn it off

I take it is showing 50% on charger. Take it off and put a volt meter across battery you should see 12.6 or more if it's just been disconnected. Should settle back to 12.6 after a short time. Think your charger read out maybe duff.

check it again later in the day also to rule out a dead cell. Ive found a dead cell will affect a reading later on..

Bought the charger on Friday as had a rac charger/engine starter and when I connected it the meter needle didn't move when switched on and it was only charging at 7.2v

th proof is in your pudding sir. If it's charged then you older charger maybe taking its retirement;-o

His wammers which temp sender is it for the glow plugs 2.5td 1996 ask this because flat battery all started with having to turn key 4/5 times to get it to start.

Right battery been disconnected since 5pm voltage gone down to 12.23v..does that mean charger wasn't telling porkies

Platinum batteries have cell plates with calcium in them, your charger needs to have a minimum output voltage of 14.8 volts when charging and really needs to be an intelligent charger.....http://www.platinuminternational.com.......look in the menu under "Technical"......Battery Care".

sounds like a week battery. Is there any swelling on the sides of the battery? Or possibly not charged enough...could be a dead cell or a faulty unit. Can you borrow another to try?

Battery voltage before charging was 11.98v. There is no swelling of the battery and all cells started to bubble almost together
