Hi all

I have a wierd noise developed from what I think is the transmission

When you come off the revs (anything above around 2500) as the engine returns to idle, there is a jangling sound from what appears to be the transmission (I have eliminated the exhaust and ancilliary mountings, block, pumps etc)

It sounds like a bunch of keys being shaken, until the revs settle at idle. There appears to be no loss of power or performence, or anything else. its done around 110K

Anyone had this one ?

Hi I had a similar sort of noise and found it to be a bracket on top of the transfer box had come loose and got stuck behind the handbrake drum. Its the one circled

Definitely the transmission area and not the crankshaft pulley (the rubber part of the harmonic balancer can separate)?
