I feel like a big kid. Tomorrow I set off from Scarborough to Oxford on the choo choo to pick up my new baby - a 4.6 HSE.
She's having a few problems with engine misfires (looks like Frankenstein's lab under the bonnet with all the sparks flying aboot) so I'm taking a set of HT leads with me which I hope will get me home safe.

More of a worry is the erratic electrical problems including phantom wipers and itchy door locks going on their own, I know what you're thinking but I hope that you're wrong!! Hoping it's a bad fuse tray or a combination of faulty switches. If not and it is the C word does anyone know of a bright spark who can repair the BECU thingy please?

Will be on the road till late and hopefully spending Thursday minting her up and then sitting back with a beer to admire the finished job and the occasional tat-tat of the central locking teasing thieves, hppy days!

Probably have a huge list of grief to report next time, till then, have a good'un.

It has a good chance of being a bad under bonnet fuse box, i think i would strip the fuse box down first and look for any corrosion or burning on the circuit board if so change the box. It is well known for these to cause strange erattic electrical faults.
Good luck with your new purchase.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Will take a look around the fusebox first and fingers crossed. Update later on everything else.

Looking at the problems people have with these nearly put me off but one thing that has kept me keen (so far) is the fact that you get moments of joy in between the costs and disappointments so hopefully that'll keep me with it.
