Took a day off work today to go grocery shopping (4 hour drive there and back ... and noticed on petrol I was getting horrendous fuel consumption ( even for a V8 :p ) had a look under the bonnet and petrol was ****ing everywhere !! The fuel return hose had completely split at the join. So a quick stop to a petrol station and a borrowed knife from the shop got me going again :)

Then getting into town I noticed the engine note getting louder and more tappy so I had a look around and the downpipe had come loose from the manifild thanks to the awesome australian gravel and dirt tracks ...

Australia is Hard ...

must be really awsome to work in those temps

Preety energy sapping and you sweat constantly. Doesn't really cool down much either so my bedroom is preety warm as I have the only one without aircon :(

Have to drink 6 litres a day to stay hydrated ..

feck that lol, too hot for me in uk sometimes :p

lucky u didnt burn ur new motor down by the sounds of it lol

Just found this thread, skimmed through looking at your work, never knew you were Almonkton tractors. My old neck of the woods. You probably know my bro, Jeff, he married Graham Key's daughter.

Australia looks fun, keep the updates coming.

Yeah I know him :) not well to be honest but met him a few times. Shame about graham though top bloke :(

Its preety awesome mate, cant complain :p

I am from Rugeley. I used to work for Andrew Moore back in 2006 so I came into your yard to have a few thing's fixed. I moved to Hertfordshire after that and not been back in.

Big shame about Graham, could have gone so differently.

Glad aus is fun, looking forward to your updates.

And we are now stranded on farm for at least 3-4 days.

We knew this rain was coming so weve spent the last 3 days building drains and vreating weak points in channel s to get rid of exess water, 1 of which we've had to breach already today to get rid of water.

Had an inch of rain last night and its still raining preety solid. Which for the outback foesnt happen too often ;)

Good that when we go shopping we spend $1000 so weve got enough for a month :p

Plus the boss is off farm so he's stuck off farm for a few days too .. few days off I think :)

Ooh and you'll be happy to know that this morning while going out to turn a borehole off, the gearbox in the landcruser destroyed itself :D :p

We were wheel spinning and flat out for a couple of km's beforehand though because of the mud and rain, but still ;)

Make that 2 landcrusers down :p

The newer one is went through some water and is now not revvinh above 2000 and is chucking out smoke ...

oops

ya load of clumsy clunts.:p:D

Wasn't me :p

TBH we couldn't have been easier on them, we had to get where we were going to stop water so we dobt destroy channels and it gets incredibly slippy here when it rains,

These landcrusers just cant keep up ;)

The second one is a td42 which is meant to be a bombproof engine, obviously not us proof ;)
